01

Overview

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 pseudogene 38 (HNRNPA1P38) is a member of the large class of human pseudogenes derived from the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (HNRNPA1) gene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but typically do not encode active, translated proteins. While some pseudogenes can be transcribed into RNA and may exert regulatory effects at the RNA level, the majority are not actively expressed or do not have detectable biological activity. There is no evidence to date that HNRNPA1P38 encodes a functional protein or participates directly in signal transduction, cell cycle, apoptosis, or other key biological processes associated with therapeutic targets. Consequently, HNRNPA1P38 is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target, nor is it implicated in known disease mechanisms, drug interactions, biomarker applications, or safety concerns.

02

Mechanism of action

None (no actionable protein, enzyme, receptor)

03

Biological functions

Most pseudogenes do not encode functional proteins and are generally thought to lack biological activitySome pseudogenes may have a regulatory function as RNA molecules (e.g., RNA decoys, competing endogenous RNAs), but such specific functional evidence for HNRNPA1P38 is not available in current databases or literature
04

Disease associations

General pseudogene disease roles can include acting as regulatory RNAs implicated in cancer, but there are no identified disease associations for HNRNPA1P38
