Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 pseudogene 47 (HNRNPA1P47) is a human gene that is annotated as a pseudogene in public databases such as GeneCards and NCBI Gene[5]. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences similar to known genes but typically lack the ability to encode a functional protein due to mutations or truncations. HNRNPA1P47 is related by sequence to the genuine HNRNPA1 gene, which encodes an RNA-binding protein involved in numerous aspects of RNA processing; however, HNRNPA1P47 itself is not known to produce a functional protein and, as such, has no direct biochemical activity or established disease role[5]. There is no evidence in the current literature or standard databases that HNRNPA1P47 is a therapeutic target, nor does it interact with any drugs or serve as a biomarker. Its principal relevance is as a genomic locus and possible subject of evolutionary or transcriptional regulation research. If the intent was to seek information on the **functional protein** HNRNPA1 (not the pseudogene), substantially more information, including roles in RNA metabolism and implications in disease, is available[2][3][4]; however, HNRNPA1P47 itself is not a protein-coding gene.
