Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 pseudogene 50 (HNRNPA1P50) is a noncoding DNA sequence that originates from the duplication and subsequent mutation of the gene encoding heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (HNRNPA1). Pseudogenes like HNRNPA1P50 generally lack the ability to encode functional proteins due to accumulated mutations, although some may have regulatory roles at the RNA level[1][3][5]. This pseudogene is cataloged in genomic databases as a locus resembling the functional HNRNPA1 gene, but current evidence does not support a direct biological function, association with disease, or interaction with therapeutics. In summary, HNRNPA1P50 is a pseudogene and should not be confused with the functional heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (HNRNPA1), which is involved in RNA processing and has biological and therapeutic relevance[4]. The pseudogene does not currently meet criteria for structured therapeutic target annotation.
