HNRNPA1P64 is a human pseudogene annotated as "heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 pseudogene 64."[1][2][3] Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but have accumulated mutations that prevent them from encoding a functional protein[6]. HNRNPA1P64 is derived from the gene HNRNPA1, which is part of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family—RNA-binding proteins involved in RNA processing and gene expression regulation[5]. However, HNRNPA1P64 itself does not produce a functional protein or participate directly in these biological activities. Most pseudogenes, including HNRNPA1P64, are not actively transcribed or translated, although some pseudogenes in the genome may act via RNA-mediated regulatory mechanisms (e.g., as competitive endogenous RNAs or small interfering RNAs in rare cases)[6]. There is currently no evidence that HNRNPA1P64 functions in such a capacity. HNRNPA1P64 is a processed pseudogene derived from HNRNPA1, not a functional protein, receptor, or therapeutic target, and has no established role in disease, no known drug interactions, and no direct biological function[1][2][3][6].
