Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 pseudogene 67 (HNRNPA1P67) is a pseudogene in the human genome that is highly homologous to the HNRNPA1 gene. Unlike the functional HNRNPA1 gene, which encodes an RNA-binding protein involved in RNA processing, transport, and various cellular processes, HNRNPA1P67 does not produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes generally arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events but are rendered non-functional by mutations or lack of regulatory elements. They are not considered therapeutic or diagnostic targets; their presence in databases reflects gene family complexity but does not infer clinical relevance.
