Processed pseudogenes are considered non-coding genetic loci—often derived from reverse-transcribed mRNA—and generally lack regulatory elements or protein-coding ability, although emerging research suggests that some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles, such as ceRNA activity or modulation of parental gene expression[9]. To date, there are no reports of HNRNPA1P69 having a defined biological function, protein product, or disease association, nor is it targeted by any pharmacological agents. It is included in genomic databases primarily for structural annotation and as part of studies of pseudogene transcription and function[1][3][7].
