Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3 pseudogene (variously annotated as HNRNPA3P) represents a class of processed pseudogenes related to the protein-coding hnRNP A3 gene (HNRNPA3). The hnRNP A3 protein is a member of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins involved in RNA metabolism and processing[5][7]. However, pseudogenes such as ENSG00000276206 are non-functional genetic elements produced by gene duplication or retrotransposition and do not encode an active protein product. While the functional, protein-coding HNRNPA3 plays roles in mRNA processing, gene regulation, and possibly telomere maintenance and inflammation, pseudogenes like HNRNPA3P3 are generally considered "genomic fossils" with no direct function. They do not act as receptors, enzymes, or other molecular targets for drugs[1][5].
