Overview

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3 pseudogene 11 (HNRNPA3P11) is a human pseudogene related to heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3 (HNRNPA3). Pseudogenes such as HNRNPA3P11 do not encode functional proteins due to accumulated mutations, but recent research indicates that some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), potentially influencing gene expression by interacting with microRNAs or RNA-binding proteins. HNRNPA3P11 does not encode an active RNA-binding protein and has not been established as a direct therapeutic target, biomarker, or as having well-characterized biological functions or disease associations. In oncology and transcriptomics, parental genes of such pseudogenes (e.g., HNRNPA3) have roles in RNA processing, cancer biology, and may serve as biomarkers, but HNRNPA3P11 itself currently lacks demonstrated clinical or molecular utility.

02

Mechanism of action

Not applicable (pseudogene, not a drug target)

03

Biological functions

Competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) activity (potential to act as miRNA sponge)Regulation of parental gene expression through transcript interactionsNo direct protein-coding functions
04

Disease associations

Other (pseudogenes, including HNRNPA3-related pseudogenes, have emerging evidence for involvement as ceRNAs in cancer and gene regulation)No direct evidence for specific disease role of HNRNPA3P11
05

Safety considerations

None; pseudogenes are not direct therapeutic targets, so typical safety concerns are not documented
06

Biomarkers

None specific to HNRNPA3P11; parental gene HNRNPA3, but not the pseudogene, is explored as a cancer biomarker
