HNRNPA3P15 is a processed pseudogene located within the human genome that is related by sequence to the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3 gene (HNRNPA3). Pseudogenes like HNRNPA3P15 arise via duplication or retrotransposition of functional genes but accumulate mutations or lack regulatory sequences needed for protein-coding function[3][5]. Most human pseudogenes are not transcribed or translated, though a minority are expressed as RNAs and a subset can be translated into short peptides[5]. There is currently no evidence that HNRNPA3P15 is transcribed or translated, nor that it plays any direct functional or pathogenic role. The parent gene, HNRNPA3, is a nuclear RNA-binding protein involved in mRNA processing, transport, and splicing, with an established association with cancer biology[2][4]. HNRNPA3P15 itself is not a recognized drug target, receptor, or enzyme, and should be excluded from therapeutic target databases.
