Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3 pseudogene 3 (HNRNPA3P3) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, arising from the functional HNRNPA3 gene that encodes an RNA-binding nuclear protein. Pseudogenes such as HNRNPA3P3 generally do not produce functional proteins due to genetic alterations that disrupt the normal open reading frame[1][5]. While some pseudogenes can have regulatory roles (such as acting as miRNA decoys or influencing the expression of their parent gene), no specific function has been described for HNRNPA3P3. In contrast, the parent HNRNPA3 gene encodes a protein involved in RNA metabolism, mRNA transport, and has roles in cancer and possibly autoimmune conditions[1][2][3][4]. HNRNPA3P3 is not considered a therapeutic target and has no known direct disease associations, interacting drugs, or utility as a biomarker[1][5]. HNRNPA3P3 should not be confused with the functional gene or protein HNRNPA3, which *is* studied as a potential cancer biomarker and regulator of RNA dynamics[2][3][4].
