Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein F pseudogene 1 (HNRNPFP1) is a human pseudogene. Pseudogenes are non-functional segments of DNA that arise from functional genes but typically lack the capability to encode functional proteins, often due to mutations or truncations. While some pseudogenes have regulatory activity at the RNA level, there is currently no evidence that HNRNPFP1 serves as a functional protein, therapeutic target, or biomarker. The name "Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein F pseudogene 1" refers to a pseudogene; it is not a canonical receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other druggable target. Its "target" status is therefore incorrect for most therapeutic/biological targeting purposes. More structured and disease-related information may be available for its parent gene, Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein F (HNRNPF), which is an RNA-binding protein involved in pre-mRNA splicing and mRNA processing[2][4][6], but HNRNPFP1 itself is not a target. HNRNPFP1 is a pseudogene, not a protein-coding gene or receptor and thus not a valid therapeutic target.
