The Hib Capsular Polysaccharide Conjugated to Carrier Protein is a vaccine composed of the polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP) capsular polysaccharide from *Haemophilus influenzae* type b, chemically conjugated to a carrier protein (e.g., tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid (CRM197), or meningococcal outer membrane protein). This conjugation transforms the poorly immunogenic polysaccharide into a highly effective antigen, especially in infants and young children, stimulating T-cell dependent immunity, robust antibody production, and immunologic memory.
