Overview

HIF-1alpha-stabilizing long noncoding RNA (HISLA, LINC01146) is a long intergenic non-protein coding RNA, predominantly expressed in certain tissues such as liver. HISLA is functionally implicated in cancer, especially hepatocellular carcinoma, where its expression is frequently reduced and is associated with a more aggressive disease phenotype and poorer prognosis. Overexpression of HISLA inhibits proliferation, migration, and invasion of HCC cells, while promoting apoptosis.
