Overview

High mobility group AT-hook 1 pseudogene 4 (HMGA1P4) is a processed pseudogene related to the HMGA1 gene. It is located on human chromosome 9q34.11 and shows low sequence homology to HMGA1. Bioinformatic analyses suggest that HMGA1P4 is untranslated and not known to produce functional RNA or protein. There is no evidence for any role as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) or in peptide-related function to HMGA1. Unlike several other HMGA1 pseudogenes, such as HMGA1P6 and HMGA1P7, HMGA1P4 does not appear to be involved in any regulatory or pathological processes, including cancer. It is a non-functional sequence derived from HMGA1 but lacks the ability to produce a protein due to significant mutations and low sequence homology. Its sequence does not appear to give rise to any protein or functional RNA. HMGA1P4 is not considered a therapeutic target, as there is no evidence or indication in the scientific literature that it functions as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or biologically active RNA. No biological or disease functions have been attributed to HMGA1P4, and it is not implicated in regulatory roles like some other HMGA1 pseudogenes. There is no disease role described for HMGA1P4, despite other family members having links to cancer progression. No experimental studies or disease links have been published regarding HMGA1P4, and it is explicitly stated to have no known regulatory or protein-coding capability. Consequently, there is nothing to indicate HMGA1P4 is a functional or druggable target, and it has no therapeutic, diagnostic, or biomarker relevance at this time. The query for HMGA1P4 as a target is considered incorrect or misleading, as it is not an active molecule nor a recognized target in biomedical research.
