Target intelligence / Profile preview
High mobility group box 1 pseudogene is a sequence in the human genome that closely resembles the high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) gene but contains disabling mutations that prevent it from encoding a functional protein. Pseudogenes like this are generally not transcribed or translated, and they do not serve as active therapeutic targets; however, some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles or be transcribed in rare instances, although there is no evidence for a biological or therapeutic role for this particular pseudogene.
