Target intelligence / Profile preview
High mobility group box 1 pseudogene 35 (HMGB1P35) is annotated as a processed pseudogene related to the HMGB1 gene, which encodes a non-histone chromatin protein involved in DNA binding, gene regulation, and inflammation. Unlike HMGB1, there is no evidence that HMGB1P35 encodes a functional protein or participates in biological or pathological processes. No role in drug targeting, biomarker development, or disease association has been documented for HMGB1P35. Descriptions of HMGB pseudogenes in the literature focus on their potential as regulatory RNAs for parental gene expression in certain cancers, but HMGB1P35 has not been described as having such a function.
