Target intelligence / Profile preview
High mobility group box 1 pseudogene 8 (HMGB1P8) is a non-coding, non-functional pseudogene homologous to the HMGB1 gene. HMGB1 pseudogenes, including HMGB1P8, do not encode functional proteins and do not play direct roles in cellular biology, disease, or serve as drug targets. Their sequences may be used in evolutionary studies, but HMGB1P8 should not be confused with HMGB1, a protein involved in DNA regulation, inflammation, and cancer biology[1][3][4][7].
