Overview

High mobility group box 3 pseudogene 7 (HMGB3P7) is a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein[4]. It is a relic of the functional High mobility group box 3 gene (HMGB3), which encodes a DNA-binding protein with roles in chromatin structure and gene regulation[5][3]. HMGB3P7 is mapped to human chromosome 1, position 101,801,878-101,802,488 (GRCh38), and has been manually annotated as a pseudogene[4]. Pseudogenes like HMGB3P7 may sometimes produce non-coding RNAs, but there is currently no evidence that HMGB3P7 has any biological or disease-related function, nor is it considered a therapeutic target.
