High mobility group nucleosome binding domain 1 pseudogene 11 (HMGN1P11) is a processed pseudogene annotated in the human genome. It is homologous to the protein-coding HMGN1 gene, which encodes a chromatin-associated protein involved in regulation of gene transcription. Like other members of the pseudogene family, HMGN1P11 is considered non-coding due to accumulated mutations and lacks evidence of expression or translation into a functional protein. Pseudogenes related to similar protein families have emerged as regulators of gene expression and RNA stability, but there is no published evidence associating HMGN1P11 with such activity. Its primary significance is as a non-functional genomic variant.
