High mobility group nucleosome-binding domain 1 pseudogene 14 (HMGN1P14)

Target
HMGN1P14
Molecular classification
Processed pseudogene, Non-coding RNA
01

Overview

High mobility group nucleosome-binding domain 1 pseudogene 14 (HMGN1P14) is a processed pseudogene related to the HMGN1 gene family, which encodes proteins involved in chromatin structure modulation and gene regulation. While some pseudogenes, particularly within the HMGA1 and HMGN families, can regulate their parent genes through competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) activity and other noncoding mechanisms, there is no scientific evidence that HMGN1P14 is transcribed, functional, or implicated in human biology or disease. It is considered nonfunctional, does not code for a protein, and holds no recognized physiologic or therapeutic relevance[2][4][5].
