Overview

High mobility group nucleosome binding domain 1 pseudogene 35 (HMGN1P35) is a human genomic locus classified as a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically lack protein-coding capability due to disruptive mutations or absence of regulatory elements[1][2]. While some pseudogenes in other families can regulate their parent gene's expression through non-coding RNA mechanisms—such as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) or small inhibitory RNAs—in the case of HMGN1P35, there are presently no reports of transcriptional activity, biological function, disease association, or pharmacological relevance[1][2][3][4]. Thus, HMGN1P35 is not recognized as a molecular target, therapeutic receptor, or biomarker.
