Overview

High mobility group nucleosome binding domain 1 pseudogene 4 (HMGN1P4) is a nonfunctional DNA sequence in the human genome that has high sequence similarity to the protein-coding gene for high mobility group nucleosome binding domain 1 (HMGN1). Like other pseudogenes, HMGN1P4 does not produce a functional protein product[3][4]. Most pseudogenes are remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and have accumulated mutations that render them inactive[2][3]. Although a subset of pseudogenes can regulate functional genes at the RNA level, HMGN1P4 itself has no established function, no role as a therapeutic target, and is not a known biomarker or drug target. If you need more information, such as genomic context or potential regulatory roles, please specify, but current knowledge does not indicate functional or therapeutic relevance for HMGN1P4.
