Target intelligence / Profile preview
Histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) is a Class I histone deacetylase enzyme that plays a central role in chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and various cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. It catalyzes the removal of acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones, leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional repression. Aberrant HDAC3 activity has been linked to cancer development/progression, making it a therapeutic target.
