Overview

The HLA-A*11:01-restricted CT-RCC-1-derived peptide complex is a specific peptide-major histocompatibility complex (pMHC) found on the surface of certain cancer cells, particularly in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) [PMID: 15150592]. CT-RCC-1 is a cancer-testis antigen that is highly expressed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) but has limited expression in normal tissues, primarily restricted to the testes, making it an ideal target for cancer immunotherapy [PMID: 15150592]. The HLA-A*11:01 allele is a common MHC class I molecule that presents the CT-RCC-1 peptide to the immune system, especially in East Asian populations [Takara Bio Inc.]. This complex serves as a target for engineered T-cell receptor (TCR) therapies, such as TBI-1201, which are designed to recognize the complex and trigger a cytotoxic immune response against tumor cells [Takara Bio Inc.]. By targeting this complex, TCR-T cells can selectively recognize and eliminate tumor cells while sparing healthy tissues [PMID: 15150592]. Clinical interest in this target is driven by its restricted expression pattern and the prevalence of the HLA-A*11:01 allele in specific patient populations [Takara Bio Inc.].
