Pseudogenes in this region arise through gene duplication and mutation events and do not produce functional proteins. While the HLA region is crucial for immune system function, particularly in antigen presentation and transplantation compatibility, this specific locus does not encode a functional molecule and has no established physiological or disease relevance. There is no evidence supporting drug development or clinical significance connected to this pseudogene.
