Overview

HLA-E expressing autoreactive T cells are a subset of CD8+ T cells that recognize self-antigens presented by the non-classical MHC molecule HLA-E. These cells can contribute to both immune regulation and autoimmunity. HLA-E's limited polymorphism makes it an attractive target for immunotherapies, but careful consideration is needed to mitigate potential autoimmune side effects.
