Overview

HNRNPDLP2 (HNRNPDL pseudogene 2) is a genomic locus closely related to the gene encoding heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein D-like (HNRNPDL), a member of the hnRNP family involved in mRNA processing and regulation[2]. Unlike HNRNPDL, HNRNPDLP2 is a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes may arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and may serve as evolutionary markers, potential regulators through noncoding RNA mechanisms, or remain functionally silent. There is no evidence that HNRNPDLP2 participates in biological pathways, disease processes, or drug interactions. For functional and therapeutic contexts, HNRNPDL (not HNRNPDLP2) is of interest, particularly in transcriptional regulation and association with certain muscular dystrophies[2].
