Overview
Homeobox protein Hox-B2 is a sequence-specific transcription factor encoded by the HOXB2 gene in humans, belonging to the Antennapedia (Antp) homeobox family. It contains a homeobox DNA-binding domain and regulates gene expression patterns critical for the development of positional identity along the anterior-posterior axis. HOXB2 is part of the clustered homeobox B genes on chromosome 17. Aberrant expression, particularly overexpression, has been linked to some cancers, including pancreatic cancer[1][2][8].
