Target intelligence / Profile preview
Homeobox protein Hox-C8 is a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor encoded by the HOXC8 gene in humans. It belongs to the homeobox gene family, which is critical for morphogenesis and embryonic development across metazoans. HOXC8 regulates gene expression during development and is notably implicated in cartilage differentiation and nerve growth. Aberrant expression of HOXC8 has been associated with certain cancers (such as epithelial ovarian cancer) and developmental disorders[1][7][9].
