Homeobox protein Hox-D3 (HOXD3)

Target
HOXD3
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Homeobox protein
01

Overview

Homeobox protein Hox-D3 (HOXD3) is a sequence-specific transcription factor belonging to the homeobox family, a group of highly conserved developmental regulators involved in morphogenesis across multicellular organisms[1][2][3][7]. HOXD3 is located on human chromosome 2q31-2q37 and is one gene of the HOXD gene cluster[1]. It specifies cellular positional identity during embryogenesis and regulates processes such as cell adhesion and gene expression[1][7]. Deletion of the HOXD gene cluster or its 5′ end is associated with severe limb and genital abnormalities[1]. Dysregulation of HOXD3 is implicated in cancer, including promoting colorectal cancer growth and roles in hepatocellular carcinoma progression[6][8]. No drugs are currently listed as direct interactors.
