Homeopathic principle

The homeopathic principle is the central theory of homeopathy, developed by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century[3][4][9]. It consists mainly of two core tenets: (1) "like cures like" or *similia similibus curentur*, the idea that a substance that can induce symptoms in a healthy person may, when administered in extreme dilution, treat similar symptoms in an ill patient; and (2) the "law of minimum dose," which posits that the more a substance is diluted through prescribed homeopathic processes, the stronger its therapeutic potency, sometimes to the extent that no molecules of the original material remain in the solution[1][2][3][6][7][8][9]. No receptor, molecular family, drug interaction, or mechanistic biology applies to the "homeopathic principle" in the context of molecular targeting. The concept is widely refuted by scientific consensus and should not be considered a druggable target or rational biomarker[3][4].
