Target intelligence / Profile preview
Homologous recombination (HR) is a fundamental DNA repair pathway that enables the exchange of genetic information between two similar or identical DNA molecules. It plays a critical role in maintaining genome stability by accurately repairing double-strand breaks (DSBs) and other types of DNA damage, as well as generating genetic diversity during meiosis. Deficiency in HR impairs effective DSB repair, which is associated with increased cancer risk, genomic instability, and sensitivity to platinum-based chemotherapies and PARP inhibitors.
