Hormonal balance

Hormonal balance describes the coordinated regulation and homeostasis of hormone production, secretion, signaling, and clearance across multiple endocrine organs. It is maintained through feedback mechanisms (primarily negative feedback), cross-talk between hormone signaling pathways, and neural and humoral regulation[1][5][6]. Disruption in hormonal balance, such as in insulin or estrogen signaling, leads to a variety of systemic diseases affecting metabolism, cardiovascular health, and more[2][6]. Interventions target specific hormonal pathways (e.g., insulin, estrogen, aldosterone, ADH, TSH), not the concept of "balance" itself. Therefore, "hormonal balance" is not a standard or precise molecular target for drug discovery or research, but a systemic outcome of multiple well-defined molecular targets.
