Modulation of the intestinal immune response occurs through various mechanisms, including the neutralization of pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., TNF-alpha, IL-12, IL-23), inhibition of leukocyte trafficking to the gut mucosa via integrin antagonism, and inhibition of intracellular signaling pathways like the JAK-STAT pathway.
