Host-reactive T-cell (N/A)

Target
N/A
Molecular classification
T lymphocyte, Immune cell
01

Overview

Host-reactive T-cells are a subset of T lymphocytes that recognize and respond to antigens presented by host cells, typically in the context of allogeneic transplantation. These cells play a central role in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), where donor-derived T-cells attack recipient tissues due to recognition of alloantigens as foreign. Key subsets include memory stem-like CD8+ T-cells and effector/memory phenotypes. Therapeutic strategies aim to selectively deplete or functionally inhibit these populations to control GVHD while preserving beneficial graft-versus-leukemia effects.
