Target intelligence / Profile preview
The human chorionic gonadotropin beta chain (hCGβ) is the unique beta subunit of the glycoprotein hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). hCG is a key hormone in pregnancy, produced primarily by placental trophoblast cells. Detection of β-hCG in urine or serum forms the basis for most pregnancy tests and is also a tumor marker for certain cancers.
