Target intelligence / Profile preview
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) matrix protein pp65 is a major structural and immunogenic component of the HCMV virion. It is located within the viral tegument and plays roles in immune evasion by inhibiting IRF3 and modulating cGAS, and in virion assembly. It is a dominant target antigen for CD8+ and CD4+ T-cells during HCMV infection.
