Target intelligence / Profile preview
The HIV Gag gene product is a polyprotein precursor (Pr55^gag^) that is cleaved by the viral protease into several structural proteins essential for viral assembly, budding, and maturation. These include Matrix (MA), Capsid (CA), Nucleocapsid (NC), p7, p6, and spacer peptides. Gag plays a critical role in forming the viral particle and packaging the viral genome, making it an important target for antiretroviral therapies.
Inhibition of viral replication cycle stages, including assembly, budding, and maturation.
