The HIV-1 Pol protein is a polyprotein precursor that encodes for three essential enzymes: reverse transcriptase (RT), integrase (IN), and protease (PR). RT is responsible for converting the viral RNA genome into DNA, IN integrates this DNA into the host genome, and PR processes the polyprotein into mature enzymes.
