Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Human Papillomavirus Type 18 L1 Capsid Protein Antigen is a recombinant protein used in prophylactic vaccines to prevent HPV-18 infection. The L1 protein self-assembles into virus-like particles (VLPs) that mimic the native virus structure but lack viral DNA, thereby eliciting a strong and safe immune response. The primary clinical application is in vaccines against cervical cancer and other diseases caused by HPV-18.
Stimulates the production of neutralizing antibodies against HPV-18, preventing viral infection.
