Overview
The Huntingtin protein (Htt) is a large protein of approximately 3144 amino acids that plays roles in chemical signaling, material transport, protein binding, apoptosis protection, DNA repair, and development. It contains HEAT repeats, facilitating protein-protein interactions, and a polyglutamine domain encoded by CAG repeats. Expansions of these CAG repeats lead to Huntington's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder.
