Hyaluronic Acid Receptors (HA Receptors)

Target
HA Receptors
Molecular classification
Receptor, Cell Surface Protein, Glycoprotein
01

Overview

Hyaluronic acid (HA) receptors are a group of cell surface proteins that bind to hyaluronic acid, a major component of the extracellular matrix (ECM). These receptors, including CD44, RHAMM, LYVE-1 and HARE, mediate a variety of cellular processes such as cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and inflammation. They play significant roles in tissue repair, angiogenesis, and cancer progression, making them potential therapeutic targets for inflammatory diseases and cancer treatment. The size and form of HA can drastically alter the effects elicited, from inflammatory to anti-inflammatory.
