Hyaluronic acid (HA) receptors are a group of cell surface proteins that bind to hyaluronic acid, a major component of the extracellular matrix (ECM). These receptors, including CD44, RHAMM, LYVE-1 and HARE, mediate a variety of cellular processes such as cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and inflammation.
