HYI antisense RNA 1 (HYI-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene transcribed in the antisense orientation relative to the HYI gene, and is classified as a non-protein coding transcript. Long non-coding RNAs, including antisense RNAs such as HYI-AS1, are recognized for their regulatory roles in gene expression, generally acting at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level.
