Antisense RNAs are an emerging class of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) that generally regulate gene expression by binding to corresponding sense mRNAs or modifying chromatin at neighboring loci. These molecules are usually classified under "long non-coding RNA – antisense subclass" and are of interest in functional genomics but are not established drug targets.
