The Ig lambda chain V-VI region pseudogene, encoded by ENSG00000232350, is a sequence-restricted, non-protein-coding pseudogene found in the immunoglobulin lambda variable domain gene cluster on human chromosome 22[7]. Pseudogenes like this arise from gene duplication and diversification events during evolution, and while they share sequence similarity to functional immunoglobulin variable region genes, they do not encode functional light chains and are not involved in antigen recognition[1][3][5]. These pseudogenes typically lack open reading frames or contain disabling mutations that prevent translation or function. While immunoglobulin lambda variable genes play essential roles in immune surveillance, the V-VI region pseudogene itself does not have a known biological function nor involvement in disease or therapy[7]. Thus, it is not a recognized molecular target for therapeutics or diagnostics.
