Target intelligence / Profile preview
The IgE Fc receptor alpha-subunit (FCER1A) is the alpha chain of the high-affinity IgE receptor complex (FcεRI). This receptor plays a central role in allergic and inflammatory responses by mediating the effects of IgE antibodies. Upon allergen exposure, allergen crosslinks IgE bound to FCER1A, triggering cell activation and release of inflammatory mediators, driving clinical symptoms seen in allergic reactions. It is expressed primarily on mast cells and basophils, and dysregulation contributes to various allergic diseases.
