Immunoglobulin E Receptor (IgE Receptor)

Target
IgE Receptor
Molecular classification
Receptor, Type I transmembrane protein (FcεRI), Type II transmembrane protein (CD23)
01

Overview

The immunoglobulin E receptor (IgE Receptor) refers to cell-surface proteins that specifically bind to the constant region of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. These receptors are central to the allergic response and play a key role in immune defense against parasites. The high-affinity receptor (FcεRI) triggers degranulation and release of mediators upon allergen exposure, while the low-affinity receptor (CD23/FcεRII) regulates serum IgE levels and facilitates allergen presentation.
