Target intelligence / Profile preview
IGF-like family member 1 pseudogene 1 (IGFL1P1, IGFL-5P) is a non-coding genomic sequence located near the IGFL gene cluster on human chromosome 19. It does not encode a functional protein and is not considered a molecular target, receptor, or enzyme for therapeutic purposes. There is currently no known biological function, disease relevance, or drug interaction associated with IGFL1P1. Its presence in genomic databases reflects annotation of the IGF-like gene family, but its biomedical significance is negligible for drug discovery or clinical applications. If your interest is in a true therapeutic target, consider the protein-coding gene IGFL1 (Insulin growth factor-like family member 1), which is actively under investigation for its roles in cancer and other biological processes. IGFL1 should not be confused with IGFL1P1, the pseudogene.
