IGF like family member 1 pseudogene 2 (IGFL1P2) is a human pseudogene from the IGF-like family. The IGF-like (IGFL) gene family in humans includes four functional genes (IGFL1, IGFL2, IGFL3, IGFL4) clustered on chromosome 19 and two pseudogenes (IGFL1P1 and IGFL1P2). Pseudogenes such as IGFL1P2 do not encode functional proteins and play no established role in cellular signaling, disease, or therapy. They may arise from duplication or mutation of protein-coding genes and typically lack biological activity. IGFL1P2 is sometimes referenced in genomic studies due to its position within or near regions of interest but is not a molecular target in clinical or experimental pharmacology.
