Target intelligence / Profile preview
IkappaB kinase (IKK) is a critical enzyme complex involved in the regulation of immune and inflammatory responses, primarily through its central role in activating the NF-κB signaling pathway. It is a serine/threonine protein kinase composed of IKKα, IKKβ, and NEMO subunits. Upon stimulation by pro-inflammatory signals, IKK phosphorylates IkappaBs, leading to their degradation and the subsequent activation of NF-κB transcription factors.
Inhibition of IKK complex activity, leading to reduced NF-κB activation and downstream effects on inflammation, cell survival, and proliferation.
